
When the animals meet the fans
The animated series “Animal Crossing” has made millions of fans worldwide, but it has yet to reach Japan.
A new Japanese release has made it to theaters, but the Animal Crossing franchise has yet again failed to make an appearance in the country.
On Friday, Japanese media reported that the new English-language Animal Crossing film, “Animal Kingdom,” has made $1.1 million from ticket sales.
The film stars an Australian actress who appears in the film as a character named Diana, and it has grossed $566,917.5 in Japan since its April debut.
The Japanese release is set to open in the Japanese theaters on April 19, 2018.
“Animal Kingdom” was directed by Yasuo Nakamura, who also wrote the animated films “Diana of the Desert” and “The Little Mermaid.”
It has been nominated for 11 Academy Awards, including Best Animated Feature at this year’s Academy Awards.
In addition to its international success, “Diaplaning” has grossing more than $2 million in the U.S. alone.
“Diapling” was produced by Studio Ghibli, and was directed and written by the same duo, Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki.
It is currently available in theaters.
